This, my friends, is why I continue losing faith in the American political system.
Just watch about thirty seconds of the video. There are a few more seconds of it (the YouTube video just looked unsightly on the blog, sorry) where he says: "Maybe it's the businessman in me, but we'll save money." He looks down. "But it makes sense. Does it to you?" And it ends there.
Please join me as I mourn the slowly dying flame that once was my fiery American nationalism.
And people wonder why we continue referring to areas of the South as backwards swampland. It's bigots like Tim James that reinforce these stereotypes that many people from the South have been trying to dispel for decades.
Seriously, Tim James? What kind of votes are you looking for here? Are you going to reimplement segregated public spaces too?? I can just imagine him saying: "If ya'll want some good ole Southern fried chicken, ya'll just gonna need to go and get yourselves ejamacated in this here English language we red blooded Americans speak! Or you can just kiss your poultry good bye! Yee hawww!!"
Unbelievable.

What a douche-for-brains. This country was built on immigration. The Founding Fathers were either sons of immigrants or immigrants themselves. While English does come in handy so that language barriers could be less of a problem, that idiot should really brush up on his basic American history.
This has been my favorite political cartoon ever since I first saw it in my 7th grade history textbook:
